MINICOM and affiliated agencies are certified as data controllers and processors

In a bid to regulate personal data and privacy, Rwanda adopted Law No. 058/2021 of 13/10/2021 relating to the protection of personal data and privacy (DPP Law), and the National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA) is the supervisory authority in charge of its enforcement.

It is against this background that all public and private institutions were requested to register as data controllers, processors, or both in order to comply with the law above-mentioned;

After having successfully fulfilled the registration requirements, the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MINICOM) and its affiliated agencies, namely RICA, RSB, NIRDA, and RCA, were issued with both data controller and data processor registration certificates from the National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA).
